THE ART OF SEDUCING A NAKED WEREWOLF by Molly Harper

Naked Werewolf Series Book Two

Baring It All

Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stone’s throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg. Maggie just can’t seem to convince Nick to leave . . . and even worse, she can’t convince herself to stay away from him. Cross-species dating is problem enough for a harried alpha female, but on top of that, a rival group of werewolves is trying to move into the valley. With interpack war threatening, Maggie can’t afford to be distracted. Combining romance and a career can be tough for anyone; for a werewolf in love with a human, it may be disastrous. . . .

Guest Post:

Hey everyone! Please welcome Paranormal Romance author, Molly Harper, to Lovin' Me Some Romance!

About the Author:

Once a reporter and humor columnist, Molly Harper is now known for her snarky humor, feisty heroines and hunky heroes. She lives in Kentucky with her family.

Graveyards

There’s a reason I have a character graveyard on my web site.

One of my weaknesses as a writer is that I occasionally create wacky, compelling characters that ultimately don't do anything but distract from the story. In every manuscript, I end up cutting at least one character and parceling out that character's better lines out to other characters. So to honor these fallen literary heroes, I established the Harper Character Memorial Garden at mollyharper.com.

Most of the residents are siblings to the main characters. Zeb from the Nice Girls vampire series once had a wacky, attention-hog sister named Maybelline who tried to destroy his wedding. Lacey from AND ONE LAST THING… had a sister, Ellie, but it turned out Emmett was funny enough by himself. And Maggie Graham, the main character of THE ART OF SEDUCING A NAKED WEREWOLF almost met the same fate.

Maggie is little sister to Cooper Graham, the leading man from the first Naked Werewolf book, HOW TO FLIRT WITH A NAKED WEREWOLF. Her relationship with Cooper is rocky in HOW TO FLIRT, and while writing the first draft, Maggie was even less reasonable toward him. (Believe it or not.) And their mother, Gracie, was on Maggie’s side, treating Cooper badly, too.

When my agent read it, she suggested that perhaps I was being a little too hard on Cooper. I considered cutting Maggie from the manuscript all together and leaving the harsh treatment to Gracie. I’m very glad I decided to simply dial soften Grace’s character to a sweet, loving mother, and designate Maggie as Cooper’s sole, dedicated tormentor – keeping Maggie safe from the graveyard. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have her own title.

Naked Werewolf Series
Book Two
THE ART OF SEDUCING A NAKED WEREWOLF follows Maggie’s transition to taking over Cooper’s Alpha position and her introduction to paranormal researcher Nick Thatcher. Nick comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, and Maggie resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that Nick turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg.

I’m glad I didn’t miss out on the experience of writing from Maggie’s perspective. I’d never written from the point of view of someone who was born a supernatural creature. Jane Jameson was made a vampire just before her 30th birthday. Mo, Cooper’s love interest in HOW TO FLIRT, is a human dropped into werewolf pack drama. Writing as someone who’s always been able to do something weird and extraordinary, was a whole new experience.

THE ART OF SEDUCING A NAKED WEREWOLF comes out on March 29. You can find it where ever book are sold. You can find the Harper Memorial Garden at http://www.mollyharper.com/. I hope you look up both!

I'd love either, but I'd actually love to try The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf because I like the idea of a female alpha.
